5 Halloween party ideas!

It all started back in time,
when I first watched the Hocus Pocus movie.
It was impossible to avoid the excitement of getting dresed for a party
and having fun with your friends, while drinking cider and eating toffee covered apples.
And so, the idea was generated...

Let's have a Halloween party this year, I said to my friends, and everyone said YAS with one voice!

So, if you too are thinking of organising a Halloween party here are a few ideas to follow ::

1. Get your pumpkins game on! Buy a few pumpkins from your local market and place them around the house. Bonus if you remove the top and inside to create vases and bowls for popcorn!

2. Decorate with floral wreaths. Find treasures in the woods (acorns, pine cones etc) and make the best use of them :)

3. Toffee covered apples and popcorn! Yummy.

4. Bake a seasonal treat, this recipe is simply perfect!

5. Don't forget the costumes, because what is Halloween without a bit of dressing up?

Happy Halloween!

In Autumn Mode

Nothing like a good book,
a handmade knit blanket,
 a good,
preferably strong and freshly brewed
coffee to make my mood!

Happy day everyone!

Embracing seasons.

I don't know about you, but this whole autumn vibe has me thrilled!
Picnic, tartan blankets, yellow leaves,
blue bikes, carrot cakes,
baking (in general),
knitting (intimating, but hey ho there's always a beginning for anything new),
coffees and tea leaves.

Who could not be excited about it?

Joanne

Hello September, let's do this!

Long time no see friends but I am back for good, promise! If there is one thing I am obsessed, over the past cuple years, that is embracing season changes. As much as summer months are my favourite, living under the heat makes me impatient for the fall months. Yellow, orange, brown leaves, spicy latte coffees from Starbucks and cosy knit jumpers have some osrt of their own magic!
And so, on that note, today I am sharing my favourite things to do this time of the year.

WHY I LOVE SEPTEMBER SO MUCH::

-It's not as hot as in summer and ice-creams are still around.
-A dose of fresh air and rain, is so much more refreshing that heatwaves.
-Countryside walks with the puppy!
-Evening afternoon tea in the garden with friends
-pumpkin pies!

So, not tell me friends, what makes September special to you?

Wishlist // Cozy wear

In my wishlist lately I have these two beauties;
a cozy, white knitted sweater
that is perfect for the low temperatures and
a camel moto jacket for an edgy look.
I know where I will be spending my pay check this month...
Happy Thursday!

Baking // Autumn favourites

While I was watching
Strictly come Dancing the other night
it struck me that I haven't really baked
something
for a long time
and by loooong time I mean over three months!

It's high time this to change
I whispered
and my boyfriend thought I am getting crazy...

Autumn is a great season to try new recipes
with pumpkin, caramel and
my old time favourite chocolate :)

So here are four of my most favourite recipes
that I have promised to try this weekend.

Let me know if you give any of these a go!

Mood board // Fit Inspiration

Lately I feel quite lazy...
Blame it on the weather and the lack of sunshine.
it doesn't really matter...

I decided to try and eat more healthy and
work out more regularly following
my personal crossfit programme.

A little fit inspiration never hurt anyone,
so here's an autumn-ish fitspiration mood board!

Happy weekend!

Love

"The most wonderful of all things in life is the discovery of another human being with whom one's relationship has a growing depth, beauty and joy as the years increase. This inner progressiveness of love between two human beings is a most marvelous thing; it cannot be found by looking for it or by passionately wishing for it. It is a sort of divine accident, and the most wonderful of all things in life."

Mood board // Fall thoughts

all pictures via // edited by me

I know it's been ages since my last post here
but even though things have happened in my life the past time
(and I was always saying, oh my, I have to blog about this and that)
I never actually had the time to sit down and make a post!

So since my last post...
 ....I graduated from the University,
I got a new job
I made my hobby a part time job
I went on holidays with my sister
and also did a fair bit travelling with my boyfriend.

When did autumn arrive,
I have no idea!
Strangely enough though I like it :)

Autumn to me is a season to relax,
drink huge amounts of hot chocolate,
wear knitted layers
and take pictures of the brown-orange coloured alleys.

All these leaves in the streets,
all these colours in the sky..

...what best to come?

Mood board // This summer I want to...

Inspired by this post on the "10 things to do this summer" I decided to make summer list,
so here it goes.

This summer I would like to:
1. Travel to a place I have never been before
2. Taste a different bottle of wine (or two) every week
3. Read a book-and manage to finish it
4. Dance as much as possible
5. Laugh with every occasion-life is too short to take it seriously
6. Walk barefoot more often
7. Make colourful popcakes!
8. See some fireworks by the sea
9. Get a new camera....
10. ....and make a collage out of all my summer pictures

What are you planning to do this summer?

The Londonian Girl reviews...Fitflop Ollo Cork Tan

If you are a regular reader of this blog,
then you already know from this post
that sometime ago I was lucky enough to win a Fitflop giveaway
and choose a pair of my choice.

"Just on time for summer" I thought-after jumping twice around the dining table!

My box arrived very quickly
and there was this pair of Ollo Cork Tan sandals
waiting for me to try them on.

Unfortunately the size is a tiny bit bigger than my actual size
-I definitely recommend anyone to buy a size smaller than their actual size when buying these sandals-
but boy do I love them!

Fitflops are made for walking since the heel's material absorbs any tension while walking,
which of course gives me extra motivation to go for a walk at Hyde Park
even after a very tiring day in the office.

Even though it is not the prettiest pair of shoes I have ever owned
I find them perfect for travelling, shopping and strolling in the beach.

Fashion lately is not all about being chic,
but rather about being chic AND comfortable (Birkenstock I hear you say!)
For the price given I think Fitflop wins, so why not give it a go this summer?

Who knew that even for a petite girl like me, heels can be comfortable!

Have you ever tried Fitflops?

Joanne

Wishlist // Denim & white shirt

pictures via // edited by me

Happy bank holiday weekend!
I am so happy this long anticipating weekend is finally here.
It has been a hectic week for me involving projects,
assignments and a friend visiting on Wednesday-showing him around London was not that bad,
but considering I was very stressed
you can tell I didn't enjoy much playing the tourist in my own city!

Blogging was not on the top of my list
but today I had a lovely lie in
and the first thing I got in mind when I finally got up
was to write about my latest fashion obsession-
which basically happens to be the outfit I am living in lately.

Denim and white!

So simple, so effortless yet so chic. It keeps me going from Monday to Friday
and from morning's in the office until late evening drinks in the pub.
Timeless and a successful styling recipe- denim and white combination can never go wrong, can it?

Lifestyle // Thoughts about being back home

It's a funny thing about coming back home.
Looks the same, smells the same, feels the same.
You'll realize what has changed is you.
-F.Scott Fitzgerald

It feels weird lately.
I am glad being back home,
being re-united with my beloved sister, parents and friends,
but at the same time I have a hidden sadness
buried in my heart.

Physically I am here,
but mentally I am in London.
I miss my life, my job and my friends there,
even though I have just been away for less than ten days!

I spent last night by the beach,
drinking red wine and listening to the sound of the waves,
while trying to find an answer to my feelings.

Fitzgerald's quote seems to be the answer to my questions so far,
it is not my family that has changed,
nor my house-everything is and feels the same.
It is me that has changed though,
I am not the same person anymore and living abroad has changed me
for the best or the worse.

Time flies quickly,
so I decided to make myself a favour and enjoy the rest of the week as much as possible,
before I have to fly back in London,
because then I will miss home and all my time here will be wasted,
Such an irony, isn't it?
Missing my home while being in my home away from home..

Do you ever feel the same?

Joanne
